The Grand Stage — CMTGS

These rules govern “The Grand Stage: The Ultimate Singing & Dance Battle”, organised by Cinefest Standard Sdn Bhd under the Cinefest Malaysia brand. By entering, you agree to these rules.

Eligibility

  • Open to solo performers only — group entries are not accepted.
  • Entrants must provide accurate personal details as requested on the entry form.
  • Entrants below the age of 18 must have parent or guardian consent to participate.

Categories & prizes

There are two categories — Singing and Dance — with a total prize pool of RM120,000. In each category:

  • 1st place — RM30,000
  • 2nd place — RM20,000
  • 3rd place — RM10,000

Two champions are crowned: the Ultimate Singing Champion and the Ultimate Dance Champion.

How to enter

  • Submit the official entry form with a link to your audition video (YouTube, Google Drive or TikTok). Ensure the link is viewable by the committee.
  • Entries are accepted during the 14-day audition window from the date of launch.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you hold the rights to the music and content used in your audition.

Judging

Entries are scored 70% by a professional jury and 30% by public voting. The competition proceeds through: audition submission, judging, semi-finalist reveal, a live mall semi-final, advancement of the Top 7 singers and Top 7 dancers, and a Grand Finale. The organiser’s and jury’s decisions are final.

Use of submitted content

By entering, you grant Cinefest Malaysia permission to use your audition and performance footage, name and likeness for the promotion of the competition and related events.

Disqualification

We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that is inaccurate, infringes third-party rights, or breaches these rules or the spirit of fair competition.

Personal data

Personal data collected through entry is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and the PDPA 2010.

Film Festival & other submissions

Film Festival (CMFF) submissions must be original works to which you hold the rights, submitted via a private screener link. The programming committee reviews all entries; selection decisions are final.
